I was five years old when I first used my father's Kodak camera. Two years later, I got my own camera which started a lifelong passion for photography that has shaped my life.
I began making images for newspapers and magazines, eventually working for a wire service. Over the years, I expanded my focus (no pun intended) to include corporate photography for Toronto-area businesses.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been in the photography business for 40 years. Time truly flies!
Since 1994, I’ve embraced digital photo editing. I haven't hung up my cameras but photo retouching is now my primary focus (still no pun intended).
There’s something wonderfully rewarding about transforming a photo that someone isn’t satisfied with into an image they’re excited to display on their wall or use to promote their business.
With decades of experience in editorial and corporate photography, and a portfolio that includes worldwide publication in newspapers, magazines, books, billboards, album covers, and, of course, websites, I bring a photographer's perspective to every retouching project.
Over the years, I've developed a keen understanding of what captures attention and what gives a photo its impact. This expertise directly influences my approach to retouching.
It's not just about making a photo look good, it’s about making purposeful changes that serve a clear reason. Whether it's adjusting the crop, altering the exposure or colour, sharpening or softening certain areas, or doing any other edit, each decision is made to direct the viewer’s eye, enhance the overall composition, and make the photo more impactful.
I don’t follow fleeting trends in retouching. Instead, I work to improve your images to make them more effective for you and your business.
Many businesses offer photo retouching, some starting at less than a dollar per photo. You get what you pay for.
I retouch each photo one at a time. If you have a number of pictures to be retouched, it may take a while. I make no apologies for this because every detail matters.
Retouching is not magic and my retouch skills have limits. I won't accept a project for which I don't have the necessary expertise.
My retouching comes with no risk to you. You only pay if you're satisfied with the results.
You can hire anyone, but do you want just anyone?

Just saying:
A photography business consists of short moments of photography interrupted by long periods of business. But those moments of photography make it worthwhile. Making money is a job. Making good pictures is an accomplishment.
